Shopping at Primark // Fast Fashion for Fashion Junkies
It’s presumably an easy challenge for smart marketers or psychologists to explain the hype around high-street mega-retailer Primark. One of the reasons to become addicted to Primark’s fast fashion may be the fact that its huge stores are stacked with cheap clothes that fake high-end designs enabling the masses to get a taste of valuable quality on lowest budgets. Or is it endless shopping parties in endless piles of junk fashion that promise a new look everyday? Make no mistake, what the press once marvelled as democratisation of fashion enabling people to look great for less has become a despiceable way to turn consumers into fashion junkies who spend a lot more money for countless pieces of low quality that end up as non-sustainable throw-away clothes. Before someone misses out a fast fashion must-have, they should consider that someone else may pay the price for a piece of copied couture that costs less than a cappuccino in your favourite café around the corner.
